I’ve had a Furminator for a bit over 3 years now. My one cat, Button (RIP), was a thick pure white short-haired domestic and I can literally brush him for hours and the hair would still come off of him, just like the long-haired in this video. I have no clue where the hair came from. His brother and sister (smaller cats than he) were/are the same way (the sister died also, just have the one brother left and he LOVES this thing!). Awesome “brush”.
Ya.. I’ve had my very long haired cat for 12 years and she is a dick! I wish it was this easy!

WOW! I have also a long haired female who could really use one of these. Your calico is beautiful. She looks like she is enjoying this. I have a “Tortie” so I would like to see what colors would come out of her. By the way cat lovers. His cat is a calico so she is almost always female and so are torties! Males are very rare in this color pattern and if they are, they are sterile. Just a fun fact.

That’s amazing – your cat that is. I have a furminator and I can only use it on my cat when he is eating and then it’s not that long before I get the swat! It is a life saver in terms of keeping his fur from getting matted. I’ll have to show my cat your video. 🙂

This is exactly what happens when I try that same brush on my Luna shes like a gray pinkish version of your fur baby. I can brush four hours and still there is loose hair to get out lol.

These are great, but expensive brushes. i bought one for my cocker spaniel 8-9 years ago.

The Furminator is actually quite awful to use on long hair cats. It breaks and pulls out top coat hairs. It will destroy the coat of a cat like a Persian.
What should be used instead is a simple steel tooth comb. That’s all you need to get out all that loose undercoat hair and leave the top coat intact.
Can we all just appreciate how patient and well-behaved this cat is

That damn furminator. I left it on the floor, business end up, then stepped on it and needed 3 stitches. If I have to be responsible and put it back up when I’m done, what’s the use?
