I believe all cat’s do that as they get older my cat did…so I had to feed her small portions three times a day or she left it for the dog her brother Norman lol…

@Fenris pro I can’t remember what it stands for but basically it is sounds that are usually quiet that have been amplified above normal. Here, it’s the cats making crunchy noises as they eat that has been amplified. A particular favourite seems to be the sound of whispering amplified (apparently). Some people find listening to ASMR relaxing & relieves stress. Personally, I find it a bit creepy.
I don’t know where this phenomenon originates but it seems to be the latest craze. I suspect it will fizzle out as quickly as it arrived. Hope that gives you a better idea!

@Neil Lobo Neil, thanks for the link for the puma. I was reading some of the comments that were in English and came across this link for the story of how they came to have Messi (yes, named for the famous football/soccer player). After watching the story that has English subtitles, I was hooked, and so I subscribed. Other videos do not have subtitles, but this beautiful cat translates himself: pure love!

@Neil Lobo It is always such a pleasure to read your words, and in this latest reply, I could hear the joy and delight as you talked about Messi almost as if you were sitting here talking to me about him! You sound a lot like me when I share something with someone and they take pleasure in it. My inner child is saying ‘oh yay! they like it, too!’ I haven’t seen the one about the lion petting zoo, but I’ll be looking for it, thanks. Haven’t seen today’s video yet but will check it out shortly. I learned, from the video I linked you, the man’s name is Sasha and his wife is Masha.
I’m thinking of Maru and Hana now and how much I enjoy the peaceful, wholesomeness of their channel. Along those same lines, my #1 favorite channel is Mr. Max TV, about a 15-year-old, going on 4!, Moluccan cockatoo and his owner, Dan. There is a resident cat, Dusty, who only makes occasional appearances due to his unfortunate early life as a feral kitty. Dan fed him and befriended him over about a year before being able to tame him enough to bring inside. Dan is hopeful of being able to introduce Dusty to Max some day, as Dan had a totally tame, sweetheart cat named Angel who Max dearly loved, but she died a couple of year’s ago. There are some older videos of them together. In summary, Dan posts videos daily for those of us who live for them and chat about them. It is a much smaller community than Maru’s channel, so there are maybe 10-15 of us who are friends, including two guys. The channel recently celebrated 250,000 subs, and Dan even had a contest with 20 names drawn from worldwide submissions, and one of our dear friends won! She posted an envelope-opening video on her channel, and she won a framed picture portrait of Max, and the surprise was two of Max’s feathers! One was white, a possible wing feather, and the other was orange from Max’s crest! She was overwhelmed, needless to say. There were even two winners from outside the US, one, a regular contributor from England. I have written a book about something I love without a thought to whether or not you’re even interested, but I stopped apologizing for being myself around age 68; I’m 72 now. If you are interested, watching Dan’s Q&A video from 2-3 yrs ago is a great place to start.
