Observation: At less than 4cm, Maru was at a disadvantage because his paws were wider than the surface, while Hana’s delicate little feet still fit without overflowing. So it was easier for Hana because her balance benefited from using her entire paw, while Maru could only walk on his center pads. Yet, it was Maru who persisted until he succeeded at less than 2cm, while Hana simply gave up when balancing required effort.
