Gravity pulled his head and shoulders down and his hips went one at a time because he was not using them to stand on—so when he tried to get back out his hips were giving the push together and did not fit!

I can’t decide what I relate to more, Maru’s stubbornness about not exiting through the side hole or his slow descent back into the box every time he failed to get out.
