Lol. Maru seems to be ‘shaking my head’ when he looked at the ‘rampage’ Hana has done and then looking at Mommy. Hana so funny, being acute I guess, from walking with cautiousness to hack care, argg.. just ramped the damn things down and that’s it.
Does Maru have longer legs or makes himself taller when passing through the obstacle course ? When he turns his head to look at you he is adorable as if saying what now ? Hope you are out in the country far away from Tokyo !!! Be well !!!
See, if that were me, I’d hurl myself at those “skittles” like a bowling ball. Lie on my back and try to juggle, or roll around like a mad woman (cat!) But, unlike me, Maru knew the rules!
Hana, on the other hand, also knew, but, got fed up and bored and decided that enough was enough. I was waiting for her to stick her feet in the rolls and pretend that she was wearing boots! Remember those ’70’s white patent boots?
Hana: “What’s mom up to now? This quarantine is getting to her”.
Maru: “Just try not to knock any over, maybe there’s a treat in store!”
Hana: “Sorry! Can’t help it. Maybe treats are the problem”.
Maru: “Watch me, you can do it, sis!”
Hana: “Nah, it’s more fun just running through!”
Maru: “Okay, I give up, too. Mom, where’s our treat?”
The trickiest part for us humans to imagine is the hindlegs. But I suppose four-legged animals have an automatic computation of the hind-legs in relation to the front-legs, so there is never any issue or stumbling. Not to detract from the amazing kitten carefulness etc.
Maru looks at the paper cores Sister knocked over and says I didn’t do this.
Then he comes back and says, I don’t care. Hana follows. Pretty soon they aren’t sure if it’s to knock them down or keep them up.
Oh my Mom, what fun.?
Maru accepts and appreciates the challenge. Hana cared the first time. after that, not so much.

Hana has much to learn from Maru about the ways of the cat.
Maru is a purrfectionist. Hana doesn’t care.
I am impressed that these tubes are white. In America they’re plain brown cardboard.
Maru has the grace and delicacy of an accomplished ballet dancer. He’s a joy to watch!

Maru and Hana be like, “Another silly game to play! Oh well, let’s humor the human. “
Japanese toilet paper tubes are *white*?! This changes everything!

“What are these things and why did Mommy put them here?”
I love that Hana finally says “to heck with it” and just barges through.
Hana says: “Hey, Maru, I’m clearing a path for you, it’s OK!”
Hana: “What’s mom up to now? This quarantine is getting to her”.
Maru: “Just try not to knock any over, maybe there’s a treat in store!”

Maru is more than just a cat, he understands the intention and task of his human companion wants him to perform. AMAZING!
Maru is so nimble and Hana just seems like says, ‘whatever”
I am still laughing about Master Maru with the minefield paper paper cores!

Hana says “i played ur stoopid game hooman, now we play mine.”
