Wonder why he does it ? His tail very rarely keeps completely still. But when he tries to take a nap on the hammock the noise of hitting the drum must keep him awake. Sweet Maru you are a strange Cat. He could move or change side.

All the way until the ‘reveal’ camera-shot at the end… I was convinced that Maru was reading the sheet music… counting the ‘rests’ until it was time to whack the drum with his tail. Anyone who has played percussion in an orchestra knows the exact feeling. 😊

Maru’s tail is actually following the music very closely, he is even twitching his tail liken to counting the beats before hitting on the drum and going harder and harder each time. He always know what and how to do it. The most cooperative and earnest cat in the world.
