The first time I saw the word ‘Maru’ was in the mid 80’s. It was the Nintendo title Metroid. An item that you need to advance through the game is called the Marumari or Morph Ball. Years later I found out that Maru, in Japanese means “circle” or “round.” The item in the game turns you into a ball (circle). I guess because this cat has a face shaped like a circle that his owner decided to call him Maru.
Maru knows how to enjoy life! That view from below made me laugh out loud!!
