みりちゃんがぬいぐるみに気が付いて足が上がったまま止まる瞬間がかわいいｗ
みりちゃんは好奇心が先に建つみたいですね。まるちゃん縫さんをおもちゃと勘違いしたかな。とにかく動じないみりちゃんですね。可愛い。
Kitten Miri: “This doesn’t smell right. ”
Maru: “Please keep this out more often so Miri the Pest will leave me alone!”

Miri shows the same amount of respect to the stuffed Maru as the real one, i.e. none!
Leave it to Miri, as soon as she knows it’s safe…PLAYTIME! She’s so cute. And the Miri/Maru contrast is too funny. One dignified and aloof, the other is half caffeinated squirrel.

Fake Maru’s tail is way too thin. Real Maru’s tail is THICC.
If Maru has turned into a statue than maybe I could too. Is Miri still playing and sleeping with her white kitten toy ? She is cautious but curious and inspects fake Maru. It is Mugu’s movement that startles her. I remember when Maru was sitting down next to the fake one he looked like he was sulking not making eye contact.

They know immediately, even from a distance, that something is not right!
1:44 When Cats stare at each other that’s a warning (“I don’t trust you, don’t come near”).
When Miri came out she saw a foreign cat “staring” at her. That’s why she backs away, looks down and away (“Look, I’m doing nothing, not even interested in you”). Then she sees the strange cat isn’t staring at her (if she thinks “not anymore” or if she figured out that it wasn’t the case from the beginning, is not clear to me)
Finally real Maru is getting some rest😸
Miri could tell it’s not the real Maru. She became very cautious. If it was the real Maru Miri would pounce joyfully to play.
Miri has that reddish color around her eyes and nose,, making her looking like 🥺crying! I felt like telling her the truth when seeing her so worried and confused. Moments later.. Ok! She is already biting Maru’s ear! 😅😘💕
Maru: Same old, same old
Hana: Nothing to see here
Miri: 👀🕵️♂️🐾
“Oh no! What’s wrong with your tail?It’s not moving! Wait! You’re not Maru! I think…..”
Maru: perfect! With the imposter around I am safe from Miri.
Maru is just happy the kitten has something else to mess with.
Maru: This is madness!
Miri: This is Sparta!
Miri: “Hello, Maru Oji-san. What are you… Woah! You are _not_ Maru Oji-san! Who… what… where… how…” _sniffs_ “Okay, I can work with this.”
Maru: “Are you trying to replace me?”
Maru was like “oh hey Marusuke! Long time no see, how are the kids?”
Fake Maru sits there menacingly, _Miri confused_ 😁
Cats are always cautious when they see something new; it’s even funny when they slap it to see if it’ll hit back or move.
I just love real Maru’s contented tail wagging in his beer box.
I would have tied a string to fake Maru’s tail and pulled it fast while the kitty was sniffing it, am i bad? xD
To be fair.. there’s not much difference between realistic, stuffed Maru doll and Mr Maru himself when stuffed in a box 😁
(Which is 90% of the time)
Miri: this is strange, it doesn’t smell like my Maru. But wait i can still attack it like i attack Maru. So i like it. Lol
Fake Maru is fabulous! Right down to the little dot on it’s nose. But nothing could ever replace real Maru.
Miri is smart and brave. She can’t be fooled!
Two things to notice about Miri’s play. She made two sweeps against Maru’s back legs. She was practicing tripping prey with her front paw “thumbs,” the “hook claw” further up the leg. You can see Lions bring down prey using this. When she decided to use the “sparring Maru,” she was practicing the “ear bite.” When cat’s fight, especially Toms, the ear is one of the prime targets. Toms in the wild show their age by how mangled their ears are from the years of fighting.
Miri: “is you a wampire?”
Ten seconds later: “Eh, so what if you is”
. *sniff…chomp….assess feasibility of dragging vampire cat away to wrestle with until Pod People return the Real Maru*

It is very realistic, but Maru’s eyes are never open when he’s in a box. He’s always too satisfied.

In fairness to Miri: what would YOU do if you walked into your living room and there was a life-sized stuffed human sitting there, compete with “uncanny valley” facial features? I think she was very brave!
