I have three cats. Matatabi sticks are hugely relaxing for one of my cats. He turns into a loving gentle puddle when he has one, just like Maru. He melts completely. When I give a matatabi stick to another cat, he turns into a psycho demon from hell – an attacking, biting and aggressive velociraptor. My last cat looks with disdain upon matatabi sticks and gives me a look that clearly says ‘That’s it? A piece of wood? Your’e giving me a piece of wood? There’s something wrong with you human’.
Maru is incapable of being stressed out.
I love it when Maru uses his Fluffy White Cotton Paws to hold on to the stick, it is so cute.

Well, that’s a first with Hana. I knew Miri would go nuts, but I wasn’t prepared for Hana biting mama human.

Does anyone else remember the time Mugumogu made a matatabi ‘tea’? She put it in big cups for Maru & Hana and Maru literally drenched himself in the ‘tea’.This was about 2 years or more ago. Mugumogu is a loving, clever cat mom.
Maru also enjoyed this when he was a young boy, nine years ago.
Maru only needs opposing thumbs. Hana and Maru both jumped when the noise announced Miri’s entrance. She was very interested but didn’t jump on Maru. A little irritation between the grownups and attacking the hand that feeds you. Family photo very cute !!!
