We had a cat once and I was fixing something and using a 6in length of green plastic wire. It was only 4mm dia and had a very gentle twist in it.
The cat walked past and this bit of wire fell off the coffee table, the cat then jumped as high as the table turning 180 as it did so to face the threat. 🙂
This is in the UK and we don’t really have deadly snakes here!
