Cats sure do love the free “toys”, I think it’s universal.
Most of my cats didn’t even look at the toys I spent money on and went absolutely crazy for plastic rings from milk carton and rolled up aluminum foil.

Miri: “Okay, I’m watching, but I still don’t get what’s so fun about that.”
Hana: “What _are_ you two doing? Should I be worried?”
Maru: “Nobody understands my hobbies.”
Bathroom seems to be the secret place for kittys private life activities! Maru today regressing to chilhood is so soulful! Playful and joyful as a kitten! No more grumpy stoicism but funny dynamism! Wathever your mood, antics, dear Maru, whatever your age, we love you deeply& unconditionally!

I once had a cat who, throughout his life, would occasionally rummage in the kitchen trash can (it had a lid but that didn’t stop him), find a straw & bring it to me wherever I was in the house.
He had been abandoned on a riverbank as a kitten & was feral. It took a lot of my return visits with food before he started trusting me. Once I brought him home he became the most affectionate lap cat you could imagine. I felt like the straws were little gifts & he seemed so happy to give them to me.
I named him Rio (for the river) & he graced me with his presence & love for 19 years.💙
🥰😄 Miri is so so cute! She always shows that deep interest in whatever Maru is doing and trying to copy him along the way. This reminds me when she is supposed to be kneading the Udon dough, but didn’t know what to actually do when at the dough, she just kept staring at it and trying so hard to recall.
