A play in which a Daruma toy placed on several ring-shaped pieces of wood is knocked sideways with a mallet and the position is lowered in sequence.

3 2 1 you’re the best 4 family on the internet. Hana just swats and turns her back. (Is that all there is.) Magic Maru used his nose, his paw and sweeps the floor. Over. Miri acts like a 2 year old child throwing something off of the high chair plate (?) to see if someone picks it up. Then she tries to make contact with the outside birds. The Peaceable Kingdom. So clever and cute. Watching Monk. Can’t sleep.
Daruma-doshi is a traditional Japanese children’s game, which is sometimes played on New Year’s Day and other special occasions.

Maru always completes every challenge. He’s not just a pretty face!
What a change to see the normally energetic Miri being so gentle pushing the pieces off then watching the normally calm Hana just whap the pieces across the room!
Miri: Dainty, but distracted.
Hana: Three-second Smack-down.
Maru: Too sleepy.
Maru’s Tail: Game over.
There will never be a cat like Maru! He’s unique!!!!!
Maru’s tail seemed to be the only one getting into the spirit of the game. Maru himself was indifferent, Miri was intrigued until her favourite pastime of birdwatching distracted her, and Hana reminded me of a moody teenager – “I’m not a baby! I don’t want to play a kid’s game!”
It’s incredible how Maru is so unperturbed about what is going on behind him. He knocks down the pieces with his tail making some noise, but cannot be bothered to turn around to check.
