I’ve never heard a live cuckoo bird before – I didn’t expect it to sound so very much like the clock!
Lovely kitties enjoying a lovely day. =^.^=

Is that what that was? I was just going to type; “what time is it by that clock”, when I saw your post here. I never even thought of it being a real bird. Very strange, and neat.

@Blueberryymuffin Vegan dog food? Yikes. That won’t work with cats, tho, as you may know. Thanks for noticing the Whose Line reference!

Fluff Your Garfield I mean dogs can eat non meat based items same with cats, but their diets should mostly be meat based.

@Blueberryymuffin Sorry if I’m going on too long with this, but cats are obligate carnivores, predators, so NEED a meat based diet. Dogs are scavengers and can eat a wide variety of things, and aren’t dependent on meat like cats. Sorry if I’m lecture-y! I have heard sad stories and worry about kitties.

Coo-Coo Clock was going crazy in the background. Hana and Maru sure like their greens. If that were my cats, I’d be cleaning up vomit for the next 3 days!

@Hudson Ball Really? Didn’t know there was a difference! I’ll have to see if I can find some “cat grass”

返信する

@1CherryTree I think it depends on the cat. Some use it to throw up hairballs. Others use it as a laxative instead to help them pass through.

Cats eat grass not for the nutrition, but for the fiber. It helps them excrete swallowed fur and dirt from their grooming. It’s similar to birds and chicken which often swallow small pebble or rock, to help their digestion.

@Magpie Syndrome Thank you. So you agree that cats are not supposed to be all carnivore? I’ve been wondering for ages, since here in my country it’s very difficult to obtain vegetable/grain-free cat food. I feed my cats mainly wet food, though.

Magpie Syndrome

@Genre-Fluid Metal Plebtard Dude We tried going grain-free for my cats. Constipation resulted. So while they are obligate carnivores, they often do need a bit of fiber to keep things in the gut moving. But that’s the only benefit they get from plants/grains. They just aren’t made to eat a lot of plants. They can’t digest them properly like we can.

@Magpie Syndrome It’s just that those articles/posts about “bad cat food” made me feel so guilty. I want to feed them best food in the market if I can afford it, and if it’s available. The thing is, not only very expensive, it’s imported so it can take months to arrive. I’m relieved that it’s OK to feed them supermarket cat food.

@Genre-Fluid Metal Plebtard Dude Just keep an eye out for what’s in them and the brand’s reputation. Look up reviews from vets and customers, and see if the brands have any significant history in recalling their products for defects.

Domesticated cats often LACK greens in their diet.
Because in the wild, cats often eat their prey WHOLE, including what’s in their prey’s stomach — which in the case of rodents often is lots of plant parts.
So when domesticated cats get a chance, they will ‘feast’ on some greens, thankyouverymuch!

Thanks for confirming what I guessed. When I had indoor cats, I provided grass for them. They seem to need it.
