The beautiful background sounds made me feel like I was in a zoo. Right in the middle is the large free-range enclosure of favorite cats Maru and Hana, who are being fed by their zookeeper Mugomogu.

I was wondering, why is it so noisy in Japan? Like what is this constant stream of noise in the background? How come? The environment sounds so natural.

Lately 2 wild female black cats with orange eyes are turning up outside 2 jobs I’m working and demanding that I pet them. They come running when I call them over, howling the whole way. Should I be adopting these kitty’s? (Have the vet check them out and take them home). I’ve never had a cat. I’m afraid they wont sleep when I do though. Dogs aren’t like that.
Yes, adopt them! And have a vet look at them! It’s nice to have 2 who are friends. They will make you laugh and you won’t regret taking them in! They chose you. (Get them spayed if they aren’t already.)
@Fluff Your Garfield these are 2 different cats 10 miles apart. It could be the same cat but she’d have to be roaming really far. Also do I just pick em up and put them in the truck loose, like a dog, or box em?

I would go for carrier if you can get one, or box with food/treats in it, maybe even taped shut Reassuring them with a calm voice and petting them helps a great deal, and maybe you can just hold them and carry them home this way, one at a time, but keep windows closed in the truck of course! Cats can freak out when out of their territory/familiar zone. I adopted Mr. Cool and Calm, and The Freak-Out Sisters, and a black cat with a big personality all at the same time. I used carriers to get them home, but 2 of them were just happy to go with me and didn’t need carriers. They became a family and were the best pets ever. Keep new kitties inside house for a week or so, away from other pets, to get adjusted. If kitties have chosen you, and are not too scared, it might be a breeze or maybe not. I have found that they are all wonderful companions once they feel safe!
Apart from having the sweetest cats in the world (other than mine, of course!) it is also apparent that Mugumogusan lives in a lovely place.

I tried growing cat grass in a Japanese apartment once a year for my cat but the humidity or weather killed the grass. What is the secret?
Fairly fresh seeds, and enough sun and water should do it. Old seeds might not germinate. Other than that, it should grow, regardless of humidity. Maybe mold got to the roots. That has happened to me many times.

Who would have thought watching a couple of cats being hand fed cat grass would be intresting? Really, it not but since it’s Hana, Maru and the lady who loves and brings them to us, I can not resist.

It sounds like you live in a jungle birds with a highway. That is strange all the bird sounds. 🙂 Why do cats eat grass? We have 4 inside cats and they never eat grass. I think you should make an hour long recording of all the bird song out side. It is so relaxing and beautiful sounding. You are very lucky. 🙂

“Is a cat a herbivore?” In a way, yes. Most carnivores get their vegetables INSIDE their prey. The stomach and upper intestine is full of partially digested vegetables and grains, and carnivores eat that right up. You will not find a cat daintily picking the meat off a mouse.
